Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun said at the ongoing 2019 World 5G conference that the company is in the final stages of construction of its 5G factory, which will see the development and production of the 5G flagship. GSMArena reported that the factory would be located in the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone and expected to be finished in December.

According to the report, the expected yield of the plant, covering an area of ​​187,000 square meters, is about 60 units per minute which are 60 percent more than the present conventional factories.

Additionally, Xiaomi is aiming to introduce at least 10 5G smartphones in 2020 as it makes 5G devices as common as 4G phones.

According to Lei Jun, the founder of the handset manufacturer, Xiaomi aims to launch a 5G phone, which can cover the entire range of prices from low to high end.

The company's CEO also said that all Xiaomi smartphones priced above $ 285 (2000 yuan) will be 5G phones.

Xiaomi for its part already offers some 5G phones, such as Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G and wraparound Xiaomi Mix Mix Alpha.

The company has already launched a 5G + AIoT strategy to enhance the development and adoption of its AIOT seizure usage.
