Alien's Nintendo Switch Port: Isolation has better image quality than the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions.

Alien: Isolation Looks Better On Switch Than PS4, Xbox One

Digital Foundry's investigation into Alien's interactive switch port: Isolation - which comes out today - turns out that it is the best game on a console.

This is surprising because most switch ports are downgraded because the original games are designed for more powerful hardware found in other consoles and PCs.

As Digital Foundry reported, "the Switch version is significantly cleaner in speed." “This more modern accumulation is due to reliance on temporal anti-aliasing. This approach largely reduces aliasing and edge flickering, where it looks better than the original console release, even if it is running at a higher pixel-count. "

PS4 and Xbox One of Alien: Isolation is closed at 1080p but the Switch version is not documented. However, Digital Foundry does not mind, "due to the combination of TAA and adaptive sharpening to help create a beautiful image overall."

While Digital Foundry reports that the switch port's image quality is consistent, it has some downsides. FMV sequences are significantly compressed compared to other console versions, so the quality of them is reduced, and loading is not as quick as time.

The Switch version of Alien: Isolation features all seven DLCs, including a recreation of Ripley's final mission on Nostromo in the original 1979 film.
