Fortnite Winterfest Cinematics and Details Leaked |
We still have plenty of time left for Fortnite's Star Wars event, but it seems that the winter event is waiting for someone. According to Forbes, Fortnite's Winterfest Challenge is starting today, and there seems to be a lot of information to digest.
That said, it appears that HypeX, the same data miner who found some images of the new Winterfest Challenge lobby menu, also determined that Epic removed the text that read "Seasonal Lounge, Challenges and Free Gifts." Be Ready. Starts December 17. "
At the time of writing (9:30 am Pacific time), it appears that the Fortnite Winterfest Challenge has not yet begun. It is therefore possible that the event may be further delayed, at least until later today.
Various Fortnite data miners such as HypeX were first to discover some images and videos of the new in-game lobby menu, which has been converted into a winter cabin.
The lobby itself has various animations to play with a nutcracker and a roaring chimney. It is not clear whether they are just minor cosmetic deflections or if they are tied to any kind of challenge or gameplay.
So does this Winterfest Challenge really enter? Here is a part of an already leaked challenge list.
- Find Holiday Stockings at Winterfest Cabin (1 Total)
- Stoke 1 Campfire (1 total)
- Crimes with Unwanted Weapons (Total 5)
- Hide inside a sneaky snowman in different matches (2 total)
- Warm Yourself by Fireplace in Winterfest Cabin (1 Total)
- Dancing on holiday trees in various designated places (5 total)

Each challenge will give you some kind of toy or holiday-themed gift, such as a skateboard or a new emote. If some challenges throw you for a loop, be sure to check out our massive Fortnite wiki guide, which will show you how to complete all Winterfest challenges.
HypeX later returned with another alleged leak, showing three new Winterfest-themed skins. These include a frozen version of Fishstick Skin, "Frozen Nug Ops" skin, and "The Devoyer", which looks like a human-sized version of Polar Peak Monster, which fought back several seasons of the giant teddy bear. HypeX says that those skins are planned to be released on December 23, but IGN could not independently verify that claim.
In other Fortnite news, did you know that Ninja and Mark Hamill are teaming up for a stream on December 19? It is still a mystery of what they are doing, but it is certainly a confrontation of cultural forces.
