Pokemon Sword and Shield: You Can Now Battle Gigantamax Snorlax |
You can now battle against and, if you are victorious, maybe even catch the Gigantamax Snorlax in the Pokemon Sword and Shield's Max Raid Battle. It is part of a limited-time event that will run until January 5, 2020.
If you want to fight against Gigantamax Snorlax, make sure your game is fully updated, and then check out Pokémon Dense the Wild Area. You need to be connected to the Internet to enter the Max Raid battle.
The Pokémon Company revealed that players can achieve the same result manually by opening the X menu in their game, selecting Mystery Gift, and then selecting Get the Wild Area News.
Gigantamax Snorlax will be available at Max Red Battle by January 5, 2020, and is said to be one of the strongest Dynamax Pokemon ever discovered. Not surprisingly, it is 114 feet and 10 inches in height and is covered in "fat fat".
The GameTamax version appears in the game as Snorlax always does: lying on your back, doing nothing lazy. However, the official description tells us that "thanks to the power of Gigantamax, the berry seeds and small rocks that were entangled in Snorlax's belly fur have produced explosive growth."
Gigantamax Snorlax
Not only is Gigantmax Snorlax resembling a mountain, but it is said to also move as one. When it is time to battle, it "lifts its body by only a small amount and attacks it with its hands and feet flowing - which indeed packs a tremendous punch."
While Snorlax typically has the usual types of attacks, the Gigantamaxed version can also convert those attacks to G-Max replenishes. It damages enemies but restores any berries eaten by its allies during the battle.
Gigantamax is the second Pokemon to be available through Snorlax Mystery Gifts, the first of which is Gigantamax Meowth - available until January 15, 2020.
If you haven't picked up the game yet, you want to review Pokémon Sword and Shield, in which we described it as "an absolute pleasure to play".
