PUBG v6.1 Update Adds New Karakin Map With Black Zone, Sticky Bombs, Motor Glider, and More

The PUBG v6.1 update is now on the test server and comes with a new map called Karakin. The fresh map promises more action, thanks to its smaller area. In fact, Karakin is now the game's smallest map with a 2x2 km battlefield, meaning more rapid combat action on its rocky terrain. Karakin is a 64-player-only map and features a special new feature called the Black Zone. This is essentially a high damage area that will push players out of their hiding place into a building and counter them. In addition to the Karakin map, the update also features a new explosive item and a motor glider vehicle.

The Karakin map in PUBG v6.1 has a diverse geography that includes hilly terrain, underground tunnels and other suburbs. But the most exciting aspect of the Karakin map is the black zone. In the Black Zone, buildings and compounds will be bombarded randomly, so as soon as players hear sirens and they find themselves inside a purple circle, they have to run for cover. Flattened structures by the black zone can be identified with the 'X' sign on the mini-map.

In particular, the patch notes mention that in buildings and ruins develop in real-time during the match on Karkin. Another interesting Karakin-only feature is bullet penetration in some weak walls. Upon seeing enemies through damaged drywalls, players can choose to start firing through it or keep cover.

In addition to the Karakin map, the PUBG 6.1 update has added a Karakin-only throwable item called Sticky Bombs. They can be used at breech points in some walls and floors to destroy and make way. The update also features a new motor glider vehicle that is currently live on the test server and will be available in the Engel and Miramar maps. It has two seats - one for the pilot and another for the trigger-happy passenger that can rain hell on enemies from the rear seat.

PUBG v6.1 also introduces Survivor Pass: Shockdown with Season 6, which closes in January and ends in April for a period of 12 months. It will go live on PC starting on January 22 and on the console after January 30. Season 6 will have a total of over 400 missions including 252 daily missions, 84 weekly missions, 24 season missions and 40 progress missions. You can see more details about PUBG Season 6 here.
