PUBG Mobile Gets 90 FPS Gameplay Exclusively on Select OnePlus Phones

OnePlus has announced that the popular Battle Royal game PUBG Mobile can now be played at 90 frames per second (FPS) in its select range of devices. The Chinese veteran said that this feature will be available only on OnePlus 7 Pro, OnePlus 7T Series and OnePlus 8 Series. The 90 FPS experience will be available globally from August 6 to September 6, except for a handful of others. This is the first time that PUBG Mobile will be available on any smartphone at 90 FPS.

OnePlus stated in a press release that owners of the OnePlus 7 Pro, OnePlus 7T Series and OnePlus 8 Series can access the game and play it at 90 fps starting Thursday. The screen refresh rate of all these devices is 90Hz and up. Interestingly, this experience will not be available on the recently launched OnePlus Nord which has a refresh rate of 90Hz.

While 90 FPS gameplay will be available worldwide, OnePlus stated that Enhanced Framerate will not be available to gamers in Japan, Korea and Mainland China.

PUBG Mobile, where players have pitted against each other in one last-man-standing battle royale, requires gamers to pan the screen to quickly spot enemies. The 90 fps experience is said to enhance gameplay as it will make activities such as using a scope, running, and searching for other online players much easier. This also means that gamers on the OnePlus phone above will have an edge over players on a regular phone with slower framerate.

PUBG Mobile, too, keeps adding features and gameplay updates to keep users engaged. Its latest beta version received the much-awaited Arrangeal 2.0 map on 6 August. In another update, the game offered its first upgradable player outfit with the new Golden Pharaoh X-Suite.
