Apple is set to host a special event on December 2, the 'Honor' favorite app, Games

The invitation, tweeted by veteran tech journalist Lance Ulanoff, wrote, "Join an Apple special event honoring our favorite apps and the 2019 games." A tagline is also featured on the formal invitation which states, "Liked by millions. Created by the best." In addition, there is an App Store icon in golden color appearing just below the tagline.

All of this confirms that Apple is set to showcase its favorite apps and games of 2019. In the past, the company announced awards for its app of the year, but not by hosting a press event. Instead, they issued press releases and newsroom posts.

As stated by CNBC, Apple is unlikely to unveil any of its new products at the December 2 event. However, the company may develop some new developments in the pipeline by 2020. This may include the all-new iPhone family with 5G support, the iPhone SE 2, and a new iPad Pro with modules supporting augmented reality (AR) experiences, especially if we look at recent rumors.

Earlier this year, Apple was rumored to host an event in October to unveil a range of products. The Tim Cook-led team, however, made the announcements via press release. These included the highly anticipated 16-inch MacBook Pro and AirPods Pro with active noise-canceling support.

Apple has shown more interest in hardware products services in recent times. In March, the company announced offerings such as Apple TV +, Apple News + and Apple Arcade to increase its revenue from services. The company is also pushing app developers in the direction of machine learning to add AR, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and the App Store portfolio to app developers against what Google has offered to Android users.
