PUBG Labs Goes Live With A New Skill Based Rating System |
PUBG's 5.2 updates for PC introduced PUBG Labs as a dedicated space where players can test experimental features, settings, and modes for public release. However, it should be noted that Labs is not replacing the test server, which will receive new content regularly. Instead, the lab will be used to experiment with new features and settings, some of which may be off-road. And, the first project at PUBG Labs is a skill-based rating system.
Players can allow their matches to be tracked for a skill-based rating system. It should be noted that matches will be tracked only after selection. Once in, matches will be tracked for the entire duration of the skill-based rating experiment. Players will be given an initial rating after five placement matches. After these placement matches, players will be placed in one of the six available tiers- Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond or Master. Each of these levels includes five divisions through which players progress from both the top and bottom sides. The system enables players to rank-up based on their placement, kills, enemy ratings, and RP updates.
The final rating in the PUBG Labs experiment will not carry forward any rating system, which may be launched in future updates. Players can now test the skill-based rating system in PUBG Labs on the test server and provide their feedback.
