UPDATE: The "notable role" of "Jayam Lawn" in The Batman has revealed for the first time for the Kiss actress.
According to Io9, Lawson will play the role of Bella, "a grassroots political candidate in Gotham. And, as the site suggests, Bella is also the name of the female lead in that other Robert Pattinson-led franchise, Twilight.
Matt Reeves' already talented cast has added newcomer Jayme Lawson to his ranks in an undisclosed role, according to Colored, Batman. If Lawson's name doesn't ring a bell, it's because The Batman will be his first film role, as he has recently graduated from The Julliard School, one of the world's premier performing arts schools.
The details of Lawson's character are currently under wraps, but Collider claims she will fill "a notable role" in The Batman. It should be noted that in a video on Juilliard's site that has been made private, Lawson stated that his dream role was to play Catwoman. (Joe Kravitz has already been cast as Selina Kyle aka Catwoman.)
Although nothing has been confirmed yet, we think there are different roles. We can speculate that she could be Commissioner Gordon's daughter Barbara Gordon aka Batgirl or Vicki Valle from Journalism School. However, it is also possible that she may play the role of Catwoman's best friend, Holly Robinson, or perhaps Poison Ivy.
If this report comes out, Lawson will pair with Jeffrey Wright's Commissioner Gordon, Paul Dano's The Riddler and of course, Robert Pattinson's Batman in the film. Colin Farrell is in talks to play the penguin character, while Andy Serkis is set to play Alfred.
Batman is scheduled to open on June 25, 2021. Meanwhile, you can still catch The Joker in theaters, which has recently become the most profitable comic book movie of all time, as well as hold onto everything we know about Batman.
