Amitabh Bachchan quotes his famous dialogue in appreciation of Virat Kohli's explosive knock |
Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan took to Twitter to congratulate the epic Virat Kohli against the West Indies in the first T20I in Hyderabad on Friday.
India scored an unbeaten 94 off 50 balls from Kohli's career-best score which helped his team chase 6 wickets and 8 balls for 208 runs. Kohli produced another batting masterclass, which hit 6 fours and 6 sixes during his stroke-filled knock.
Amitabh Bachchan was one of the first to congratulate Kohli for his innings and quoted a famous dialogue from his hit film, Amar Akbar Anthony.
"Man, how many times have I told you this, don't tease Virat, but you didn't listen to me. Now look, he has given you the perfect answer, look at the West Indies face, how much he has upset them (with reason) Respects Anthony Bhai), "Bachchan tweeted in Hindi.
To chase the target of 208 runs, Virat Kohli came out to bat when Rohit Sharma fell for 8 runs in the 4th over itself. The captain started off his explosive innings vigorously as he failed to execute his shots once or twice.
At one time Kohli was scoring 20 off 3 and 9 off 9 balls, but the Swashbali batsmen were unbeaten after scoring 94 off 50 balls. Kohli's last 68 runs came from 25 balls.
After being awarded the Man of the Match at the post-match presentation ceremony, Kohli advised the young cricketers not to follow up on their first innings.
"The young batsmen are watching, not following my first innings. I was batting poorly at the time. I didn't want to put KL under pressure, but I couldn't. Luckily Holder got one over. Kohli said, "Then I started analyzing why I am going wrong. I realized that I am not a slogger but a timer and then I changed my playing style. "
