Borderlands 3 Launches on Google Stadia, But Is an Older Version |
Borderland 3 is now available to purchase through Google's Stadia streaming platform, but apparently not the latest version.
Publisher 2K revealed on Tuesday that Borderlands 3's Stadia launch will only include updates and patches for the game released on or before October 24. This has included recent dropouts such as Moxie's Handsome Jackpot's Heist and Maliwan Blacksight's Takedown, both of which 2K expects to hit Stadia sometime by 2020.
It also means that the Stadia version is missing some important quality of life improvements, including Boss now dedicated loot pool, expansion of player storage space in its bank, and Scramble 4 difficulty levels.
This said this is not all bad news, as both the standard version and the deluxe version of Borderland 3 are currently discounted for launches of $ 38.99 and $ 51.99 respectively. They will retain that exemption until 7 January, and apparently only through Stadia.
We gave the Borderland 3A9 in our review, but only gave the Google Stadia a 6, saying that "affects image quality and its flexibility on all platforms, but the service is not yet ready."
