Netflix, Viacom18 Tie Up for Three New Indian Series: She, Taj Mahal 1989, Jamtara: Sabka Number Aayega

Netflix is partnering with India's three new original series: Viacom18's digital content arm, Tipping Point: He, Taj Mahal 1989, and Jamtara: Sabka No Aiga. He is a gripping tale of an undercover cop's journey discovering his sexuality while breaking a drug cartel and breaking stereotypes. The Taj Mahal 1989 is a melancholy exploration of love and longing against the backdrop of a romantic monument in Agra. Jamtara Leaves: Everybody's Number Will Come, which explores the conflicts that emerged when a small city was recognized as the phishing capital of India.

The last of those three new Netflix originals from India is not really new. It was first announced as one of 17 new originals by Viacom18-owned streaming service Woot, where it was revealed that National Award winner Soumendra Padhi would direct Jamtara, as it was then known. Now it seems that the series is moving from Voot to Netflix. This is likely to have something to do with the fact that Woot's content head, Monica Shergill, recently moved from Netflix as the head of the original series in India.

In a prepared statement on Tuesday, Shergill said: "We believe that great stories can come from anywhere and be loved everywhere. It is exciting to partner with Viacom18 Studios and take these entertaining stories to our members in India and around the world. We fans cannot wait to discover these beautifully crafted, well-produced series created by passionate and incredibly talented teams. "

Ajit Andhare, COO of Viacom18 Studios, said, "I am delighted to be launching a series of tipping points in the world as a partner with Netflix. Each series is inspired by the film-scale mentality of many years at Viacom 18 Studios. We look forward to these exclusive series with our trademark statements, entertaining audiences in India and around the world. "

Per IMDb data, Jamtara: Everybody stars in Aayega number Amit Sial (Inside Edge), Dibyendu Bhattacharya (Dev.D), Akshay Pardesi (Devdas), Adarsh Shrivastava (Shake It Up), Monika Panwar (Super 30), Anshuman Pushkar ( Capo)), Kartavya Kabra (Aditya Verma), Rohit KP (Batti Gul Meter Chalu), Harshid Gupta (San '75), and newcomers Sarfaraz Ali Mirza and Attam Prakash Mishra.
