The Mandalorian Season 2 Coming Autumn 2020 on Disney+

The Mandalorian, live-action Star Wars television series that introduced the world to Baby Yoda, is confirmed for a second season. Producer John Favreau posted the news on Twitter on Friday, the same day the first season was shut down on the streaming platform Disney +.

"2 TheMandalorian's Season 2 Fall 2020 Coming," written in Faveru, with an image of a trend-like green space alien.

While the second instalment was widely expected - Faveru openly discussed working on it before launching "The Mandalorian" - the release date was welcomed by "Star Wars" fans Was.

The hit series follows a mysterious bounty hunter played by Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones), who roams the galaxy's lawless outskirts looking for mercenary work.

During the first season, they formed an unexpected bond with a small, impossibly lovable creature officially called "The Child", but dubbed Baby Yoda by its giant's online fans.

Naughty, wide-eyed Tyche has launched thousands of memos, led Democratic presidential candidates to the top of news searches, and earned devoted accolades from Hollywood A-listers.

Its online surname stems from Yoda's apparent resemblance to the original trilogy. But as "Mandalorian" is set after those films, it appears to be a new character.

Industry watcher Rishta tweeted, "As if they had no choice. If Baby Yoda had not been given another season, the social media bounty hunters would have had John (Faveru) encounter in Carbonite."

The news dominates the movie theatre box office worldwide as the Star Wars film "The Rise of Skywalker".

Disney said on Friday that despite the poor reviews, the decades-long Skywalker saga has concluded at $ 572 million worldwide since its release last week.

Disney boss Bob Iger told AFP at the film's premiere this month that the success of "Mandalorian" was critical to the franchise's future.

"As the Mandalorians point out, this is just the beginning of what could be an endless set of stories heard from far, far away from galaxies," he said.

"' The Mandalorian' has given us the ability to be a little bit more patient (releasing new movies) because we feel that we are serving fans of 'Star Wars'."

"And it gives us, I think, the luxury of being even more brilliant about it."
