WWE 2K20 New Year Bug Made It Unplayable in 2020

WWE 2K20 was hit by a Y2K-like bug on January 1, 2020, making the game invincible for many players.

As Kotaku reports, many players found that they cannot use the WWE 2K20 once they enter the new year, because of the kicking in the bug when the game discovers that the year is 2020.

A YouTuber demonstrated a problem with the PS4 version of WWE 2K20, which showed that whenever they tried to start playing any mode of the game from the main menu, a system error would occur and the game crashed.

One player found a temporary fix by changing their system clock to 2019, which confirms that the cause of the bug was the 2020 date.

Publisher 2K came to know about the issue beforehand and tweeted within a few hours that the bug should be fixed after the game was restarted.

In our WWE 2K20 review, we called the game "a mess" and stated that "the basic parts that felt perfectly fine in WWE 2K19 now feel wonky." In fact, WWE 2K20 made it to our dishonest list of the biggest sporting disappointments. 2019. So it is, sadly, apart from the list of things from the latest WWE game that has gone wrong.
