Niantic Disables Pokestop and Gym Contributions in Pokémon Go due to ‘Overwhelming Response’

Noetic recently announced Pokéstop and Jim's contributions to Pokémon Go, allowing qualified instructors to suggest improvements to the existing information about the game's locations. As part of the referrer tool, the new feature enabled players above 40 to present variations for the title, description and photos of various Pokéstops and gyms. Now, Niantic has disabled this feature due to heavy backlash.

According to Niantic, the contribution of Pokstop and Jim to avoid sustainability issues has been disabled. It should be noted that Niantic will re-enable the feature, however, it has not offered any specific timeline to relaunch the feature.

It almost feels like a throwback to 2016, when Pokémon Go was launched. The game quickly became so popular that servers could not meet the player's demand. However, Niantic is being prepared for this as developers have already disabled this feature to avoid stability issues.

Until this feature is moved, players can play Pokémon Go Holiday events, including the new Gen 5 Pokémon, including Kubchu, Baytarik and Cryogonal.
