Miss Universe 2019 Contestants Brace for Final Round in Elegant Evening Gowns

As the Miss Universe 2019 draws to a close, the contestants for the final round are working hard. The contestants are from a diversity of more than 90 countries and regions.

On Friday, the contestants competed in the preliminary competitions, as they prepared for the big finale. Some of these early competitions included swimming, evening gowns and walking on the runway in national costumes.

Previously, contestants had visited two children's hospitals in Atlanta, as well as other tourist destinations such as the High Museum of Art, Georgia Aquarium and the World of Coca-Cola.

The crown will be given by Katrina Gray from Miss Universe, Philippines, 2018. Ahead of the Miss Universe pageant, Gray shared some advice from her days preparing for the event. She revealed that despite the advice from experts to try slowly on high heels, she mastered starting with 4-5 inch heels in 6-inch heels and coming down slowly.

Miss Universe 2019 will be hosted by comedian and talk show host Steve Harvey who has been a frequent host since 2015. Harvey's entry as host of the event in 2015 is remembered for announcing a misnomer. Following her mistake, Harvey apologized to contestants and other parties involved several times and is now a constant Miss Universe host.
